SA is associated with inflammation in the skin and, in some cases, a secondary infection or an underlying systemic issue, with the eventual damage or death to the sebaceous gland. WebIn rabbits, sebaceous adenomas may develop following adenitis, which is considered an autoimmune disease. Pathophysiology Normal sebaceous gland tissue is replaced by neoplastic tissue including hyperkeratosis, follicular keratosis and dystrophy, and fibrosis. Timecourse Likely slow, although exact timing for development is not published.
